How to Verify Webhooks Are Working
Overview: What Are Webhooks?
Webhooks allow your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to send updates to Findem in real time whenever changes happen. Changes include candidate updates, job changes, or application status updates.
Instead of waiting for scheduled syncs, webhooks ensure that Findem always has the most up-to-date information from your ATS.
Why Use Webhooks with Findem?
By default, ATS integrations rely on periodic syncing. This can lead to:
- Delayed updates (changes may take 1–3 hours to appear)
- Outdated or stale data
- Missed deletions (e.g., removed candidates or jobs)
- Extra sync cycles that slow down workflows
Webhooks solve this by:
- Syncing updates in near real time
- Ensuring deleted records are properly removed
- Reducing reliance on repeated sync jobs
- Improving accuracy across sourcing, reporting, and workflows
How Webhooks Work in Findem
First, you must have the admin user for your org's ATS complete the API setup via the ATS (instructions per ATS found below). Once enabled:
- Your ATS sends an event (e.g., candidate updated).
- Findem receives the webhook event.
- Findem immediately syncs and updates the affected record.
- The change is reflected across your Findem workflows.
Before You Begin...
Before setting up webhooks, make sure you:
- Have admin access to your ATS
- Have access to the Findem Integrations page
- Locate your:
- Account ID
- Webhook URL
- Secret Key or tokens (if required; this depends on the ATS)
Supported ATS Integrations
Findem supports webhook integrations for the following ATS integrations. Click the applicable link below for your org's setup instructions:
- Greenhouse (manual setup required)
- Lever (manual setup required)
- SmartRecruiters (auto-configured)
- Ashby (auto-configured)
How to Verify Webhooks Are Working
After setup, you can check the Webhooks tab in the Findem Integrations page. Once there, confirm events are being received and look for any errors or failed events.
