Overview
On the Shortlist Page, you can refine the list of visible candidates using various filters.
By clicking the Shortlisted option next to the magnifying glass, you can select filters in the pipeline overview and action required sections.
An additional archive filter is available in this drop-down. If candidates from the shortlist are archived, you can find them using this filter.
The Add Filters+ option lets you sort the shortlist based on location, companies, ratings, connections, reviewed status, response type, engagement (once you have responses), and ATS status.
The available filtering criteria will vary based on your current settings -- for example, whether you have a campaign running, or whether you've linked the search to your ATS. You can apply multiple filters at the same time.
Filter Types
- Location: Filter the shortlist by candidate location. If location filters aren't working as expected, double-check your settings or contact Findem Support with specific details about the issue.
- Companies: This filter lists the current companies of all candidates. Click a company to show only candidates employed by that company. Note that the "Current Companies" setting excludes candidates currently employed by the specified companies, but will still include candidates with past experience at those companies.
- Ratings: Click a star rating to view only candidates with that rating.
- Connections: A Findem connection is a person known to both the candidate and the Search owner (or their colleagues). Connections can be based on common work experience, publications, or patents. The Employee Connections filter lets you filter by whether or not you have a connection to the candidate.
- Reviewed Status: Filters candidates by whether or not they have been reviewed.
- Response Type: Use this filter to categorize candidate responses based on their interest level -- Interested, Not Interested, or Not Interested Right Now. Any new and uncategorized responses are listed under the Not Classified category.
- Engagement: This filter is visible if you have an Outreach Campaign assigned to a shortlist. It lets you filter candidates by their statuses within the campaign.
- Profile Review Status: Candidates may need their profile reviewed if their profile has changed or if they may have applied to the open role.
- LinkedIn Profile: This filter is to view the candidates that have LinkedIn profiles available.
- ATS Status: Filter candidates based on their status in your Applicant Tracking System. Note that some ATS stages may not appear in filter options if they are configured as a status rather than a stage, or if there are no current candidates/applications associated with that particular stage.
- Exclusion Filters: You can exclude certain job titles or profiles from your search results by adding exclusions for specific keywords or job titles that don't match your search criteria. Consult with your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for help refining your exclusion filters.
Effective Filtering Tips
When using filters in Findem:
- Begin with broader criteria and gradually narrow down your search
- Balance between "must have" and "nice to have" filters
- If you get no results, systematically remove or relax some filters to expand your candidate pool
- Consider how specific filters might limit your search results
- Experiment with different filter combinations to optimize your search strategy
- Use exclusion filters to remove unwanted profiles from your search results (e.g., excluding specific job titles or keywords that don't match your criteria)
- Create custom lists with specific filtering attributes for specialized searches (such as retirement timeline)
