In short, your talent ecosystem is the combination of every source Findem pulls from to find matching candidates for you. It includes in order of relevancy and importance:
Confirmed candidates, or those who are actively interested and potentially qualified include:
- Inbound applicants
- ATS candidates (these include agency submissions through the ATS if applicable)
- Internal employees
Potential prospects, or those who may be qualified, but are not confirmed to be interested include:
- CRM candidates
- Employee connections
- Alumni/Boomerang employees (those who used to be employed at your company)
- External sourcing
Note that from applicable channels like Copilot Recommendations, Internal Applicants, CRM, Employee Connections, etc., you're able to click the Settings icon at the top of the candidate list in the channel to filter (include or exclude) results from candidates who have already been shortlisted in another project.
When candidates are 'filtered out' in Findem, it typically means that these candidates exist but do not fully meet the current search criteria or have been categorized into different channels. For example, candidates might be filtered out from one channel (like Employee Connections) because they belong to another channel (like ATS), even if they are still relevant to your overall search.
Access to Hiring Channels
Access to hiring channels depends on your seat type in Findem:
- Talent Basic seats have access to two hiring channels: Inbound Applicant Review and ATS Candidate Rediscovery.
- Talent Advance seats have additional hiring channels, including Current Employees, Past Employees, Connections & Referrals, and External Candidates.
Each search tab in Findem is specific to a particular candidate source or collection. When applying filters, the platform will only search within the specific collection for that tab. This means candidates from one collection won't automatically appear in another tab, which can impact search results and candidate counts.
Inbound Applicants
Inbound applicants are prioritized first, as this is where the "warmest" or potentially successful matches are found when recruiting. Any candidates listed in the Inbound Applicants tab have applied directly for the role.
ATS Candidates
This list contains any matching candidates that Findem was able to discover in your ATS system. Findem also includes ATS prospects here. This means that any candidate found in your ATS, regardless of having a submitted application or not, will appear. This increases the number of candidates from the ATS that are served in this tab.
Internal Employees
The Internal Employees tab contains any qualified candidates who already work at your company. This is great if you're looking to promote someone from within who may be interested in the open role.
When a new account is created, Findem creates a query that defines what a past (or current) employee looks like. For example, if the company was Findem, it'd be the same as if you ran a search with "Past Company = Findem" for the designation "Alumni" and for Internal Employee it would be analogous to "Current Company = Findem".
This can get complicated if the company in question has multiple subsidiaries and/or if they rebranded at some point in their history.
The quality of this approach is limited to the data we have. In theory, any supported ATS integration would help us fill in some details on profile data, but we don't use the ATS as the definitive source of who is a current, or internal employee at this time.
CRM Candidates
These are any candidates added to your org's CRM and are typically classified as prospects who are not yet ready to become applicants.
Employee Connections
The Employee Connections tab automatically identifies externally sourced candidates in your search who have shared work history with current employees in your organization. For example, if you have a colleague named John Smith who worked at Google with qualified candidate Jane Doe in 2019, Jane will appear in this list. You can reach out to John Smith with an auto-generated email for an ‘introduction request’ with Jane Doe. What sets these connections apart is that they are based on work experience over time.
Note, an employee connection is an externally sourced candidate whom you can make into a warm candidate if you orchestrate a referral. Findem will show these candidates in both Employee Connections and External Sourcing tabs. You decide how you want to organize them, but they are not a warm contact until you put the effort into the Employee Connections flow.
Alumni/Boomerang Employees
This tab contains past employees who may be a good fit for the role.
External Sourcing
This tab lists candidates who are pulled form 3rd party sources and are not included in any of your other hiring channels, with the exception of Employee Connections. Candidates with only an employee connection will appear in both channels. The method of outreach is optional, you can request an intro - or start cold outreach.
