Overview: What Is Safe Send?
Safe Send is Findem’s built-in system for protecting your email deliverability and domain reputation when running outbound campaigns. It's is an automated protection system that monitors your campaign email performance and takes action when bounce rates become risky.
It works in the background to ensure your outreach continues reaching candidate inboxes, even when risks arise.
Simply put: When your hard bounce rate gets too high, Safe Send temporarily filters out risky email addresses to prevent damage to your domain reputation.
No action is required on your part to have Safe Send enabled.
Why Safe Send Matters
Email deliverability plays a critical role in successful recruiting outreach. Even a short period of high bounce rates can:
- Damage your domain’s sending reputation
- Cause emails to land in spam folders
- Lead to email providers blocking your messages entirely
This impact can extend beyond Findem. This affects all emails sent from your domain.
Safe Send helps prevent this by intervening early, before lasting damage occurs.
How Does It Work?
Safe Send continuously monitors your email performance and automatically activates when needed.
- Continuous Monitoring: Findem tracks your hard bounce rate over a rolling 7-day period.
- Threshold Triggered: If your hard bounce rate reaches 3% or higher, Safe Send activates within a few hours.
-
Safe Send Mode Activates:
- Emails are sent only to verified, high-confidence addresses
- Risky or invalid addresses are automatically skipped
- Most candidates (typically 94%+) are still contacted
-
Admin Notification: Admins will see a notification banner in the Campaigns tab when Safe Send is active.
-
Automatic Recovery
Once your bounce rate drops below 2%, Safe Send turns off automatically and normal sending resumes.
What Changes When Safe Send Is Active?
When Safe Send is enabled:
- A small portion of emails (typically <6%) are not sent
- Campaigns continue running as normal
- Skipped contacts are logged for visibility
- No manual action is required
Who Is Safe Send For?
Safe Send applies to all outbound campaign emails and is especially valuable for:
- High-volume recruiting teams
- Accounts sending to older or less-verified contact lists
- Teams using shared email infrastructure
- Customers who have experienced deliverability issues in the past
