What Are Tags?
Tags are a flexible way to organize, segment, and track candidates across Findem. They help make your candidate lists easier to manage and more meaningful for your workflows.
Tags are custom labels you can attach to candidates to categorize them based on your own criteria — for example, “High Priority,” “Referral,” “Needs Interview,” or “Machine Learning Expert.” These tags can be applied to and come from:
Shortlists: Tags added when reviewing candidates within a shortlist.
CRM: Tags that originate from CRM actions, talent community membership, talent pool inclusion, or CSV uploads.
ATS integrations: Tags synchronized from your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) when connected. These appear on candidate profiles and can be used in filtering and exports.
Tags are visible across various parts of Findem and help you group and filter candidates quickly by attributes you care about.
Where Can I Use Tags?
You can use tags across shortlists, the CRM, and during ATS synchronization.
Shortlists
When reviewing candidates in a shortlist, you can add tags to mark special groups or action states. For example:
“Need Manager Review”
“Potential Fit”
“Follow Up Later”
These help teams coordinate and share context on candidates more easily.
To add a tag or edit existing tags to candidates in your shortlist or CRM:
Click the 3 dots in the candidate row, then Edit Tags.
CRM Channel
In the CRM, tags can be applied through:
CSV uploads
Talent pool membership
Talent community activities
This lets you classify candidates by sourcing channel or recruiting strategy. Check out a few examples below:
“Inbound Event Leads”
“Diversity Outreach”
“Executive Network”
Tags applied here are visible in CRM filters and can shape nurture campaigns or sourcing segments.
ATS Synchronization
When your ATS is connected, tags from the ATS are pulled into Findem and attached to candidate profiles. You can then:
Search and filter by those ATS tags within Findem
Include ATS tags when exporting candidates back to the ATS
How Do Tags Help You?
Tags make it easier to:
Filter candidate lists based on recruiter decisions or sourcing context
Segment talent pools for targeted outreach or campaign analysis
Track candidate status or priority across teams
Export with context when syncing candidates back to your ATS
For example, in your CRM or project filters, you can select one or more tags to instantly narrow down your candidate list based on shared attributes or recruiting actions (e.g., “campus event”, “referral”, “declined offer”).
Best Practices
Here are some useful ways teams leverage tags:
Be consistent with naming
Use standard formats like “Role, Source” (e.g., SA, Referral)
Keep tag names short and meaningful
Use tags to track workflow
“Interviewed”
“Technical Screen Scheduled”
“Offer Extended”
Combine tags with search filters
When filtering candidates, combining tags with other attributes (like role, skills, or location) helps you build powerful segments fast.
Important to Note
Tags are shared across your org, meaning once a tag exists, others with access can use it unless restricted by permission settings. Also note that tags update quickly. They appear on candidate profiles immediately after creation or assignment.
Finally, tagged candidates are searchable. Use the Tags filter in CRM or project search to find all candidates with a given tag.
