Yes! Findem recommends using a sandbox for any ATS integration that we support. Utilizing a sandbox environment to test your ATS:
- Eliminates any possible interactions with your production environment, which reduces confusion amongst team members who may interpret testing activities as real activities.
- Provides a space to test and configure without concern for any sudden changes the production environment may experience/require.
- Preserves the first impression that your company's users will experience by sectioning your implementation journey behind a separate environment altogether.
After successful testing of the Findem integration in your sandbox environment, Findem will then migrate to your production environment so that your users can begin utilizing Findem in their day-to- day operations. Once testing is complete, you are welcome to decommission/repurpose the sandbox environment for your own usage.
What if I do not want to create a sandbox?
Findem can be implemented directly in your production environment, but there are certain risks that need to be flagged.
- All testing procedures will be visible to your user population. These testing procedures will include the following activities:
- Creating requisitions to test application exports against.
- Creating application records for test candidates.
- Potentially (depending on ATS functionality), advancing or rejecting said test candidates through your workflow.
- Any changes made to your production environment during the implementation process may result in Findem having to rework their configuration; which will likely manifest as a delay in your timeline.
What should be in the sandbox if I decide to make one?
If you do provision/repurpose a sandbox environment for Findem to use, please ensure:
- The environment is a recent copy of your production environment. In particular, this means:
- The sandbox has the same configurations, rules and settings that you would expect of the production environment.
- The sandbox is populated with the same data that is in your production environment (up to and including candidates, requisitions, and their related application records).
- Once provisioned, please inform Findem if there is a refresh schedule for said environment. If a refresh is planned in the midst of an implementation, it may result in a delay to your timeline as API connections need to be re-established.
Please also note that any differences between the production and sandbox environments may result in rework during the shift to your production environment, which may result in a delay to your timeline.
